We have been using Walk the Walk, since our puppy Daisy arrived 15 months ago. Being new parents to our first puppy we have found Russ a valuable source of information regarding local vets, food sources and his overall knowledge of pets in general and their needs. Unfortunately our puppy Daisy has been very ill over the last 8 months. Throughout this time he has shown care and consideration for her needs. Letting us know daily if he has any concerns regarding her health and wellbeing. He has also shown to be flexible in that at times whilst convalescing she has stayed with my parents for long lengths of time. During this time he has text/ rang to ask about her welfare. We are more than happy with the service he gives and would recommend his business to any pet owners who need support looking after their pets.

Just to say thanks for the service you offer. It is good to know that when we are away there is someone looking after our rescued cat. As well as the cat of course, the service also checks on the house, what could be better!!!

Following a back injury I found the services of Russ invaluable. I was unable to walk my dog for some time and it was such a weight off my mind to know that my dog was having the exercise it needed. I felt absolutely confident that I was handing my treasured pet over to someone who would look after him and to someone who was obviously a genuine dog lover. I am now fully recovered but I still use Russ at least once a week which gives me the flexibility I need for time to time. Having been delighted with Russ' service with my previous dog, I immediately contacted Russ when I rehomed my new, slightly nervous and mistrustful patterdale cross, Polly.

Russ took the time and had the patience to win her trust on his first visit and Polly and I have never looked back. Even when she was poorly and couldn't be walked, Russ came and spent time with her. I could have lost her as she had a nasty illness and the vet said she needed to be nursed back to health. Russ was invaluable here and I'm sure part of her pulling through is down to his visits whilst I was at work.

He walks my dog daily and she snuggles up to his chin and seems to understand whatever nonsense he is cooing to her as they set off. The fact that he walks her so successfully with other dogs has also helped her socialisation enormously - I would recommend Walk the Walk Pet Care to anyone.

Russ was recommended by our previous pet sitter who was no longer able to continue so I knew he must be excellent knowing how Jill would have scrutinised him & his practice. Geoff & myself met Russ for the first time together and he was friendly & professional, and clearly knew his stuff. Russ has for the past year looked after our elderly cat Molly (16) and 2 semi house rabbits George & Mildred, both of which have their funny little needs which Russ is always happy to meet.

I completely trust Russ with our pets and our home and what I especially like is the text messages he sends when we are away on holiday to reassure us that Molly, George & Mildred have been fed, fussed & watered. I also have every confidence in Russ to do the right thing if any of our pets became unwell.

I was given Russ's details a couple of years ago by a neighbour.
My cat, Pansy, is seventeen years old now and although I knew that the cattery I used was great with her, and really looked after her well, she used to get so stressed with the journey to and from the cattery and I hated the thought of her being in a pen for a couple of weeks while I was away.

When I was told about Russ I realised that he was the answer to my prayers!! I could go away and leave her with complete peace of mind, knowing she would be well looked after - "fussed, fed and watered" as the daily texts informed me! As Pansy is an older cat I do have concerns about her health, but with Russ keeping a check on her, it is very reassuring to me.

Russ clearly loves all animals, (and I think Pansy in particular!) and I'd have no hesitation at all in recommending him to anyone considering leaving a cat, or dog, at home to be looked after by him.

Russ was recommended to us by friends who had cats as we were planning our honeymoon and didn't want to spend it worrying about our cats in a cattery. He came round for a consultation and was the perfect balance between professional and friendly, he set our minds at ease immediately. One of our cats is very friendly and the other one is extremely timid and gets stressed very easily if you try to move her anywhere so knowing Russ was going to pop in every few days to take care of everything was a weight off our minds.

Whilst on honeymoon, Russ sent us a text message after each visit to let us know how it had gone which was a really nice touch to know they were doing okay without us!!! Upon return we came home to find no mess, the litter tray clean and the bin taken out. We certainly plan to use him again and have already told our friends and family about him too, we can't recommend him enough!

We found Walk the Walk Pet Care from a leaflet drop whilst my wife was pregnant, knowing we wouldn't have as much time to walk Frank our beagle. Russ has always gone the extra mile with Frank and he has also been at hand for help and advice. We have been using Russ for a good 18 months and he has also helped us out at short notice. I am very upset that we are unable to use the services of Russ and Walk the Walk Pet Care as we are moving home and out of the area. I know when Russ informed me that if I need any advice or help he would be at hand.

I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for services for your pet I would give you 100% assurances that Russ is at hand and I would recommend him to anybody.

Russ has looked after our dog on two occasions now, and he is superb. He exceeds all the usual pet-care requirements and really shows your loved pet real care and affection. I contacted Russ at Walk the Walk pet care 3 weeks ago after I fell down the stairs & ended up with a pot on my foot. He came round the next day & reassured me that he would take care of Lulu, my 11 year old Dalmatian. He showed me his CRB check & insurance & took details about Lu. Russ has been coming round 5 times a week to walk Lu, & she has been so happy, she really enjoys going out walking with Russ, either on her own or with other dogs. It is obvious when you meet Russ how much of an animal lover he is, & he has taken good care of Lulu, I would recommend him to anyone who wants their pets treating as they treat them. I am hoping I won't need Russ again for just walking Lu as I have 2 feet again, but will defo use him for dog sitting when I finally manage a holiday!! Thanks Russ, Lynda & Lulu

We used Walk the Walk on moving to a new area.  Russ visited the house to clarify our requirements and whilst on holiday we then had our expectations exceeded when we received updating text messages (sometimes with pictures) each day letting us know how our little cat was getting on. 

We were able to relax, knowing that he was being well looked after, and he was happy and healthy on our return.  

We won't hesitate to use the service again.  Top notch.

After rescuing my two young Springer spaniels a couple of years ago, my frequent holidays stopped. After all they had been through in their young lives, I was reluctant to put them in kennels. I was also worried that all the hard work I had put into dealing with their issues would be undone in the kennel environment. So I stopped going on holiday, but I was in need of a break!

One day on the way to work, I saw Russ in his walk the walk car and observed him with a dog who he appeared to have a strong bond with. I looked up his number and spoke to his lovely wife who arranged for Russ to visit me at home.

Russ spent an hour with me explaining how the serviced worked and showed me his qualifications and CRB check. He met both dogs who loved him. He listened and took notes on the dog’s requirements, likes and dislikes, food, toys etc. He looked after my two dogs for 3 days and visited 3 times each day. After each visit he text me to let me know how it went and what the dogs did, this superseded my expectation and took the worry aspect away.

I'm over the moon with Russ' service and would without hesitation recommend to any pet owner. I'm just about to book him again for a longer break, its great to have the freedom to travel again.

We are so lucky to have found Walk the Walk and have the reassurance that we can leave Witch, our Standard Poodle with such a caring professional on days when we are unable to walk her ourselves. She loves her walks around the Jumbles with you and enjoys the challenge of seeing if she can get you to do things her way! Never having used a pet sitting service until July this year, it was the only option left to me when we had to be away from home for a week at short notice.  I was extremely anxious about leaving our treasured cat Lily, and very uneasy about having a stranger in the house in our absence.
 
My fears began to be allayed when Russ of Walk The Walk visited us for an initial consultation, brought his CRB certificate, patiently answered all my questions and quickly filled in a form with our relevant details.  When he greeted Lily she was at ease with him straight away.  Russ showed the utmost respect for our privacy and asked that Lily’s food be left in a container on the counter so there would be no need to look in our kitchen cupboards.
 
During our time away I received daily texts to let me know how Lily was doing, confirming that she had been fed, watered, litter tray changed and been made a fuss of.  We returned to a very relaxed and contented cat – almost if we had never been away!
 
In summary I am delighted with Walk The Walk – trustworthy, professional and genuinely good with animals.  We will use them again and I shall be booking well in advance, as no doubt they will be increasingly in demand as word of their service gets around.

Fab Service!

I moved to the area from Manchester in November. Whilst the area is perfect for dog walking, I worked too far to come home on my lunches but Sally being full of energy still needed her walks during the day. Sally took to Russ immediately and enjoys her three walks a week! She greets Russ as she does myself and expects a good cuddle before they go out. She's definitely a happier dog for the service provided!

I rang Russ at Walk the Walk after worrying about my Yellow Labrador Cresta not getting her afternoon walk after I had broken my wrist after a fall in the snow. Russ rang me back within minutes and arranged a free consultation that same afternoon. Straight away I could tell he was an animal lover as Cresta took to him as soon as he came into the house. Russ talked me through the service Walk the Walk offer, very professional and we agreed to commence the next day on a short term basis. Russ always arrived on time and I have had peace of mind over the last 2 months. I am now able to walk Cresta myself but can't thank Russ enough for his help. Excellent Dog Walking Service

Russ has been walking our dog Charlie for 3 months now (Feb 2010) and we are delighted with the service offered. Charlie is a rescue dog and can be a bit of a handful. After a few weeks with Russ he was a lot calmer and happier in himself. The greeting Russ receives from Charlie also shows that he is more than happy! My Dog Is Happy

My dog Heidi is very happy with Walk The Walk Pet Care, Russ walks Heidi 4 times a week during the day whilst we are working, The time keeping and professionalism is excellent. Heard some good stories about Walk The Walk. After some soul searching, I looked up information about Walk The Walk, everything came up good about the company, so I thought why not give the company a try and I’m glad I did. I have a 7 yr old parrot called Geordie and she is very fussy who she is with. (women eh!). After just a few minutes with Russ she was settled, couldn’t have done it better myself. She spent the next week with Russ and came back with some new words and was very well looked after. Booked her in again for next year - this guy will come very highly recommended and I have told all my friends who have pets to look the guy up.
